AIR RAIDS: 20TH & 22ND AUGU T 1958.

I have to report the following serial attacks

by enemy planes, and damage sustained by the Railway

on the 20th and 22nd instant:

20TH AUGUST.

About 14.40 hours, the Railway was raided by 1

plane, when 2 bombs were dropped at the following places:-

1 bomb at Km. 28/5, making a crater on slope of embank-

ment, track disturbed,

28/7, without any damage to the track.

22ND AUGUST.

UN TONG & TONG MBI. About 16.30 hours, the

Railway was raided by 6 enemy planes and 8 bombs were dropped between Km. 35/8-13, 3 hitting the track and

causing the following damage:-

18 paire of rails and 300 sleepers.

8 craters on embankment and 1 in cutting.
